Fiore de Henriquez #2

(Libby)

Began work on Fiore – reading Art and Androgeny by Jan Marsh, based mainly on recorded conversations.  I don’t get the impression that Marsh empathised with her subject and having started watching Charles’ rushes from 1977 I can sort of see why.  Fiore appears to be a larger than life character, in more ways than several, an extrovert, playing up to the camera in a bombastic manner.  But that is also very Italian, very volatile.  And perhaps the loud exterior is her protection, keeping people at arm’s length from a vulnerable and possibly confused psyche.  She is certainly a very complex character so I look forward to learning more and trying to get the hang of her.
