Night Train to Ankara is an excerpt from 'Playing Turkey', Channel Four TV's first-ever fully funded commission awarded to Malachite which took us to Turkey to make a feature-length jazz 'road-movie'. Using their 'big band' music as an increasingly important element, the film is an impression of the NYJO's lively progress, sometimes troubled, sometimes a culture clash, but always colourful and, finally, triumphant.
